Despite advances in technological innovation, the use of technological tools in micro-curricular planning, lesson preparation, and as teaching resources by natural science teachers is still insufficient. This impacts the development of students' cognitive skills—attention, memory, and comprehension—and limits the efficiency of the teaching and learning process. Hence the need for this research project, which utilizes a mixed methodological approach, descriptive scope, and pre-experimental design, with the objective of designing a teaching methodology based on technological tools to enhance cognitive skills and improve the teaching and learning process in the area of Natural Sciences among sixth-grade students of secondary basic education. The results demonstrate that technological tools, as mediators in the teaching-learning process, promote sustained attention, visual and auditory memory, and conceptual understanding through visual content and interactive activities, which improve students' comprehension, active participation, and reflection, contributing to making the learning of Natural Sciences more motivating, meaningful, lasting, and adaptable to students' needs. This research topic can serve as a motivation for future research in Ecuadorian educational institutions.
