Fundamentals that support the professional value of the nurse

Abstract

The research arose on the basis of the moral foundations for the formation of professional value in Nursing students aimed at perfecting their ethical-professional performance once they graduate. The nurse training process, although it is based on the professional training model, shows the absence of paths and forms to follow for comprehensive training based on Professional Practice. This training process for the nursing professional has two relevant aspects: the scientific-technical and the professional-integral, which complements the ethics, health, humanistic and axiological vocation to avoid the rupture between the nurse and the patient. The authors propose an update of the main professional values ​​that underpin the daily actions of nurses. In this sense, the objective of this work was to was to propose variables to promote the formation of professional value in nurses aimed at deseign a methodological proposal to strengthen the professional value of nurses, aimed at improving their performance. To solve the objective, the qualitative approach was used, and the philosophical-interpretive methods, the documentary review, and the hermeneutical-legal method were used. A bibliographic review of 13 scientific articles from the Scopus, Web of Science and Google academic databases of empirical studies related to the professional values ​​of nurses was carried out. The results revealed that honesty, respect, responsibility, integrity, care, commitment and justice influence the actions and professional ethics assumed by the nurse.
