Education, peace and values in the face of conflicts in secondary school

Contemporary global society faces various critical situations (economic, health, conflict, environmental, etc.) that cause fear, insecurity and other reactions that; ultimately, they influence peace and justice, causing a widespread perception about the loss of values and family, institutional and social ineffectiveness in values education. For this reason, a theoretical-conceptual analysis is carried out on the different meanings and typologies of values, valuation or value judgment, axiology and education in values; with the objective of bringing professors, researchers, students and other members of the university community of the Metropolitan University of Ecuador (UMET) closer to these topics as a contribution to their gradual operationalization in the processes that are part of university management. As a result, it is concluded that it is possible to promote education in values through Professional Career Programs (PCP), and prepare students armed with knowledge, skills and values to strengthen awareness of their social and civic responsibilities; committed to the evaluation, interpretation and transformation of the educational, social, cultural, political and economic reality of the country.
