Education in Mexico presents itself as a space of inclusion and substantive equality, but the reality inside the classrooms involves a much broader academic training and professional commitment. Therefore, when attending to non-verbal students, it is important for teachers to know, design, and employ strategies that allow students to access inclusive learning, where Augmentative and Alternative Communication can be the best option to break down Learning and Participation Barriers that the student faces when others have fluent communication. This scientific article analyzes the importance of Augmentative and Alternative Communication as a key tool to promote inclusive education for non-verbal students. Through a theoretical and pedagogical review, the main foundations of some applications and their impact on school participation, learning, and social interaction are examined. It is concluded that the systematic implementation of technology, accompanied by teacher training and collaborative work with families, promotes more equitable and accessible educational environments.
