The digital tool Educaplay in the academic performance of preparatory-level students
Keywords:
Educaplay, gamification, academic performance, preschoolAbstract
The present research analyzed the effect of the digital tool Educaplay on the academic performance of students at the preschool sublevel in the area of logical-mathematical relationships. The problem identified was the limited scientific production on the use of playful digital resources in children aged 5 to 6 years and the difficulties in developing logical-mathematical skills. The objective was to determine the differences in academic performance before and after implementing activities with Educaplay. A quasi- experimental design was applied with 28 students, distributed into an experimental group (n=12) and a control group (n=16), using pre-test and post-test, analyzed with the Mann- Whitney U test. The results showed significant differences (U=50.0; p=0.009), with a median of 3 (Achievement) in the experimental group versus 2 (In process) in the control group. It is concluded that Educaplay, under a gamified approach and teacher mediation, promotes logical-mathematical learning in Preschool.
