Spelling is crucial in written communication, as it ensures clarity and comprehension of the message, reinforces credibility. A well-spelled text reflects professionalism and attention to detail, which influences the reader's perception. Learning spelling rules from an early age establishes a solid foundation for the development of language skills. The research presented here responds to the need to delve into the orthographic component from a new perspective, given the limitations that fifth grade students show in this regard, hence the objective is to deepen the treatment of the rules of accentuation of plain words in elementary school students. In the development of the research, the use of theoretical, empirical and statistical mathematical methods were used, which determined the need for the selection and elaboration of sufficient and varied activities that make possible the exercise of the orthographic rules and in a punctual way, the accentuation.
